Student Positions

The Department of French Studies is seeking undergraduate students to serve as Teaching Assistants for FREN 118 (Fall 2025).  

Job Duties 

Teaching Assistants are primarily responsible for some grading tasks, leading tutorial sessions via Zoom, and communicating with students.  

Successful applicants will have a contract of roughly 85-100 hours to be completed during the Fall 2025 term. At the beginning of the term, the course instructor will meet with you to explain how these hours will be distributed throughout the term. 

Job Requirements  

As this is an asynchronous online course with synchronous components, candidates must be prepared to work outside the regular 9-5 work week and have access to the internet and a computer that meets minimum requirements. 

Previous TA experience with online courses, learning management systems (i.e. onQ) and videoconferencing software (i.e. Zoom or Adobe Connect) are an asset.   

Teaching Assistants will complete mandatory training and preparation before the start of the course.
