Resources to support your first-year student

Parents and Supporters

Congratulations on your student’s adÑý¼§Ö±²¥ to Queen’s University!

We understand the important role you’ve played as a parent or supporter in preparing your student to attend university, and we want to work with you to continue to support them on this new adventure. That’s why we have First-Year Foundation – programming that starts this summer and gives your student online and in-person opportunities to build their community, support their transition, and find their path to success for their first year.

As parents and supporters, we also have resources specific for you integrated throughout our Summer Orientation to Academics and Resources (SOAR) program and summer webinars:

  • July 7, 7-8pm ET: SOAR Kickoff
  • July 23, 6-7pm ET: Supporting Your First-Generation Student: A Webinar for Parents and Supporters of First-Generation Students
  • July 24, 7-8pm ET: Thrive at Queen's Your Roadmap to Academic Success & Wellbeing
  • August 21, 7-8pm ET: Supporting Your First-Year Student: Need to Know Info for Parents, Families, and Supporters

Register for these and more sessions by viewing our Events Calendar (use the "Parents & Supporters" filter).
