Undergraduate Summer Student Research Award Opportunities

May-August 2026

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has several undergraduate summer research assistantship positions available for 2026. Positions are funded through the Queen’s University Undergraduate Student Summer Research Fellowship Program, the NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award Program, and internally through the department. Positions are open to eligible undergraduate students in mathematics and statistics, mathematics and engineering and related fields.  If you have a strong academic record and are interested in gaining research experience in mathematical and/or statistical sciences, we invite you to apply.

Successful applicants must be available to work on campus for 16 consecutive weeks, on a full-time basis (35 hrs/wk), from May 1 and August 31, 2026.  Remuneration will be a minimum of $18.60 per hour, equaling $10,416 plus vacation pay of $416.64.
