Former UN Ambassador Bob Rae to deliver lecture at Queen’s University

KINGSTON - The School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University will welcome The Honourable Bob Rae, Canada’s 25th ambassador to the United Nations, former premier of Ontario and former member of Parliament, for a special public lecture on Thursday, Nov. 20. 

The event, titled “1984 Was a Warning, Not a Guidepost: The World We Are In,” is part of the School of Policy Studies’ Donald Matthews Lecture Series. This will mark Ambassador Rae’s first public address following the conclusion of his United Nations appointment. 

Ambassador Rae is expected to reflect on his five-years at the UN and offer insight into the profound changes he has witnessed globally. His remarks will explore how current international dynamics echo the warnings of the past, offering a candid and sobering assessment of where we stand today.
