As Kingston continues to face high demand for housing and with several major residential projects currently under construction or moving through approvals, Queen’s real estate expert Michael Trendota (Geography and Planning) is available to provide local insight on whether the city’s housing pipeline aligns with local needs.

Given the surge in development, from downtown intensification to new suburban builds, Trendota can speak to key issues such as:

  • Are we building the right types of housing – or are some types being overbuilt or underbuilt?
  • Are we providing the right mix of unit sizes and bedroom counts?
  • Are new projects meeting the needs of families, students, seniors, and workers, as well as income groups that need housing most?
  • Are new homes being built in locations with good access to transportation, jobs, and services?
  • Is Kingston producing enough affordable housing – and what policies could help increase it?

Trendota can also discuss broader market trends, demographic shifts, and what Kingston should prioritize to meet future housing needs.
