Last week Professor of Artifacts Conservation, Amandina Anastassiades, was invited to attend two symposiums on Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Antiquities. The first, organized by the American Embassy in Ottawa, was held at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau on Sept 21 and 22.

The Department of Art History and Art Conservation mourns the loss of our colleague Dr. Allison Morgan Sherman, who passed away on 26 April 2017 after a courageous and spirited battle with cancer. Flags were lowered on campus Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in her memory.
As Queen’s continues to celebrate its Spring Convocation, the university presented an honourary degree to Otto Naumann, the leading name in Old Master paintings in North America, on Tuesday, June 6.
Susan Lord (Film and Media) Dylan Robinson (Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Arts) and Rosaleen Hill (Art Conservation) are among the ten Queen’s University researchers who have received more than $1.8 million in combined funding from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) John R. Evans Leaders Fund. The fund supports researchers by providing the foundational research infrastructure required to undertake leading-edge research.
