Worldless is a 14-part compilation film sympathetically replicating the various ways that the world fails to make sense, and where meaning based in incongruity is always suspended and conditional. Questioning the veracity of images in all their cinematic forms, Worldless examines customs of audio-visual authority and their arbitrary nature. Humorous but attentive, this work applies insights from Heraclitus and Chuang Tzu to reflect on the uncertain status of rocks, brains, evolutionary theory, ruins, beauty, chairs, and monkeys.
Fencing is Cool (the preceeding short film) centers on a group of fencers as they move through a dark, blue dreamscape, reflecting on their craft. As they compete, the line between friendly competition and rivalry begins to blur.
