Applications are invited for a summer undergraduate research position to work with Dr. Judith Irwin on the (Continuum Halos in Nearby Galaxies — an EVLA Survey) project. The successful candidate will assist with data analysis and visualization of galaxies associated with CHANG-ES, which uses radio data from the as well as supplementary data sets. The successful candidate is expected to be present in Stirling Hall for the duration of the appointment.

Skills and qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student in physics, astronomy, engineering physics, or a related field
  • Python programming experience
  • Experience with  and/or  is an asset

Funding and compensation

  • Students are strongly encouraged to apply for an (USRA)
  • With USRA: compensation is at the advertised USRA rate. See PDF.
  • without USRA: $2800/month
