Overview
Location: The John Deutsch University Center, or J.D.U.C. is located on the northeast corner of University Avenue and Union Street.
Entrances
South
There is an accessible entrance to the first floor via a ramp on Union Street, the entrance to the 2nd floor is inaccessible as there are stairs leading to it.
North
The back entranceway off of Athlete's Walk enters onto first floor of the Kathleen Beaumont Wing and is fully accessible
West
There is an accessible on University Avenue that opens onto first floor in between north and south wings of the JDUC.
All entrances have an automatic door opener on outside and inside.
Building Accessibility Features
Corridors: There are automatic door openers on all fire doors in public corridors.
Elevators: There are two public elevators, one each in the north and south wings. The south elevator is located in a small hallway to the right when entering off of Union Street. It provides access from the 1st floor to the 7th floor. A fob is required to access levels 5 and up.
The north elevator is located to the left when entering the entrance off of Athlete's Walk, is large and provides access to 1st to 3rd floor. A fob is required to access underground levels.
Wayfinding: Directories are located inside both north and south entrances.
Washrooms: There are single-user accessible washrooms on all public floors.
Parking: Permit parking is available in the lot under the Athletics and Recreation Center and in the lot north of Stauffer Library (enter off University Avenue). There is one accessible meter space on Union Street across from Miller Hall and two accessible meter spaces on Earl Street at the main entrance of the ARC.
Water Fountain: Accessible water fountains with bottle fill stations are located on all public floors.
