Dr. Kieran Moore currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario. Prior to this provincial appointment, he was the Medical Officer of Health for Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington from 2017 to 2021. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Moore played a pivotal role on Ontario’s COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, contributing to the province’s response and its participation in the national vaccine rollout.
In addition to his public health leadership, Dr. Moore is an adjunct professor in the Department of Family and Emergency Medicine at Queen’s University. His research focuses on the prevention, detection, and surveillance of Lyme disease through the Canadian Lyme Disease Research Network.
Dr. Moore holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ottawa, with specialization in family and emergency medicine. He also earned a Master of Public Health from Queen’s University and a Master of Science in Disaster Medicine from the University of Brussels, in collaboration with the World Health Organization.
