Available: Teaching Assistant Positions
The Department of English invites applications for one Teaching Assistant position for the in-person, on-campus course in Winter term 2026: ENGL 275 Race, Migration, and the Canadian Nation. The primary duties are assessment of student work, communicating and consulting with students regarding assignments, and attending lectures. Specific duties will be provided at or prior to the start of term. This TAship is 76 hours.

Course Description
ENGL 275 explores the relationships between race, migration, and multiculturalism in Canadian contexts. It provides students with the cultural and historical knowledge required to critically engage with urgent contemporary concerns such as national identity, settler culture, racism, diaspora, and activism in the name of justice and equality.

Job Requirements
Previous experience in Teaching Assistantships is essential; it is beneficial to have experience as an English Department TA. Please indicate if you have any specific background in the subject matter of the course. In addition, please consider the following:
- Candidates must be prepared to work outside the regular 9-5 workweek and have access to the internet and a computer that meets minimum requirements.
- Experience with learning management systems (e.g. OnQ) and videoconferencing software (e.g. Zoom, Teams or Adobe Connect) will be an asset.
