Queen's Student Alumni Association Volunteer of Distinction Award

The Queen’s Student Alumni Association (QSAA) Volunteer of Distinction Award was introduced in 2009 to recognize outstanding volunteers of the QSAA. Award recipients are honoured at the ֱ Alumni Association Alumni Awards Gala.

Yehonatan Shakarghi

Yehonatan Shakarghi is an incoming third-year student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) program at Queen’s. He has been actively involved in the Queen’s Student Alumni Association since 2024, when he began as a first-year representative, and now serves as giving director.

In this role, he contributed to one of the most successful Giving Tuesday campaigns to date, helping drive meaningful student engagement with alumni and donors. He also organized a QUAA Grants information session, launched the “Philanthropy on Campus” social media series highlighting student-led impact initiatives, and effectively led Philanthropy Week and a Gaels Give campaign supporting Black Youth in STEM.

Yehonatan is passionate about building community and creating meaningful opportunities for students to connect with alumni through leadership, service, and impact.
